Fredrik Elwing
Fredrik Elwing is the Founder and Director of Diem Capital Advisers.
Mr. Elwing, a native of Sweden, graduated with a BA in Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics, where he was awarded an academic prize for an essay on the European Monetary System. Following the Stockholm School of Economics, Mr. Elwing received an MBA in Finance from Insead Business School.
Prior to forming Diem Capital in 2017, Mr. Elwing has accumulated over 20 years of industry experience. In doing so, he has established an extensive and differentiated network.
Mr. Elwing’s experience is worldwide, having operated and or worked with Private Funds in Europe, North America, South America and Asia.
In 2014, Mr. Elwing joined EQT Partners as a Managing Director, where he was responsible for capital raising activities for EQT Real Estate and served on the Investment Committee. Prior to EQT, he served as Managing Director and Partner of Greenhill & Co. from 2010 through 2014, working on originating and placing of interests in private equity, real estate and infrastructure funds and JV projects.
From 2001 to 2010, Mr. Elwing served as a Managing Director and Group Co-Head of the Real Estate Private Fund Group at Credit Suisse. Where he was responsible for its activities in Europe, including the origination and marketing of a broad range of real estate funds focused on Europe, Asia and North America.
Before joining Credit Suisse, Mr. Elwing was a Senior VP in the Capital Markets Group of Security Capital in London from 1998 to 2001. Prior to Security Capital, he was a Senior VP of the Private Client Services Group of Lehman Brothers in London for three years.
From 1987 to 1995, Mr. Elwing served as a Director with Credit Suisse First Boston, in London, marketing equities and equity related products to institutional investors in Europe and the Middle East.
Preceding Credit Suisse First Boston, Mr. Elwing worked at Salomon Brothers, in London, Telesis SARL, in Paris and the Benteler Group in Germany.
He is fluent in, Swedish, English, German and French.
Mr. Elwing served in the Swedish Military from 1975 through 1976, achieving the rank of Lieutenant.
When Mr. Elwing is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, tennis, and traveling.
